Sam and Mary sitting in a tree...
K-i-s-s-i-n-g

 First comes love...

Then comes marriage...

Then comes the baby in the baby carriage...

That's right...We're expecting, and we couldn't be more excited.  I am currently almost 14 weeks. I am due November 16th. Towards the end of my student teaching I started feeling nauseous for no reason, got crazy headaches, and felt like I couldn't possibly get enough sleep.  I had an inkling, but Sam was adamant that I wasn't pregnant. So one day I decided to take the test.  I was shocked when I saw those two little lines!  I waited until Sam came home and told him the news. Three pregnancy tests later he finally accepted that we were indeed having a little one.  His face was too funny...I just had to take a picture to take in the moment of how shocked he was.

The truth is we had a five year plan.  I would work as a teacher for a few years, put Sam through grad school, and then start a family.  Well you know what they say "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans." In my last semester of school Sam and I started talking about it again. We went to the doctor who told us it could possibly take us a very long time (years) to get pregnant.  So we decided we wanted to try sooner than later...and sooner it was.  We were pleasantly surprised by how soon I got pregnant.  Our little one will be joining us in Oklahoma just before Sam finishes his internship.  It's crazy how much we already love our baby.  From the moment you find out you're going to be a mom or dad, life takes on a whole new meaning, and we just can't wait to meet our little one.

  1. Wow! WoW! WOW! That is fantastic news! I'm so excited for you two! I can't believe you're going to Oklahoma, either; you'll have to tell me if the winds really do come sweeping down the plains. :)
