Miss Brylee Skeie

I just can't get enough of this sweet little girl!  She turned 16 months yesterday so I figured I would post a few more pictures and videos of her!
Here she is pretending to ride her stuffed animal horse, Rusty!

We went on a picnic with some friends the other day.  Brylee was holding my hand and reached out for their little boy's hand! It was pretty cute.

It's really hard to get a video of her talking.  As soon as she sees the camera she just wants to play with it.  The funny thing is she likes to watch the videos, when she hears me ask her to say words in the video she will answer in real time.

Well we finally got a few good videos:

We have been working on animal sounds.  Now she says Neigh, baaa, and ruff.

I love her kisses!

We finally got her to say a couple more words on camera!

We always sing a song to Brylee before she goes to bed.  One of my favorites to sing is "You are my Sunshine." She truly is our little ray of sunshine.  She is such a happy girl, she always makes us laugh.  Bry is a busy little girl who always keeps us on our toes! One of her favorite things to do is read books.  She comes up to us says and signs "book," then will lead us into her room. she'll pick out a book and sit on our laps, we love it!

All about Bry

We've been up to a few fun things lately but I decided its time for post about Bry. She is at such a fun age and it makes me sad that all of her family can't be here to experience it.  So I guess you will just have to make do with a blog post about Miss Bry.  First, I just have to say I love this age.  She is so much fun.  Sometimes being a stay at home mama I feel like I could go insane without some adult conversation, but I truly would not trade it for anything.  I love hanging out all day everyday with our little princess, even when she is grinding mac and cheese in the carpet, removing dirty diapers from the trash, and generally tearing the house apart.  I love the little lessons she teaches me everyday. She is such a happy girl and just loves life!

Brylee is a very busy girl, and now that she listens better its acually a big help tp me.  She just wants to do whatever I am doing.  If I'm folding clothes or hanging them on the clothes line she wnats to help. She likes to collect the socks and put them in a pile for me.  Whenever I try to do dishes Brylee is always trying to get the silverware.  She's been watching me and now she unloads the silverware into the silverware drawer.  I love it, and actually its a huge help.  I hate unloading the silverware.  I remove the sharp knives and leave her to her job.
Brylee learned to climb early.  Unfortunately she had no boundaries, and would just walk off furniture.  One day I went in my room to get something, when I came back into the living room she had discovered how to climb on the kitchen table.  We quickly learned that we have to push the kitchen tables in tight.  She was around twelve months when she started climbing on everything, fortunately now she has learned how to get down.  One day Sam was playing with her in her room.  he came into the living room and mentioned what a terror Brylee was, he said watch we'll go into her room and she'll be standing on her chair.  As we are walking back I said I'm just waiting for the day she figures out how to climb on her dresser...and this is what we found when we walked in the room!

I'm so glad she has figured out that she can't just walk off furniture (or stairs for that matter)  she may have learned a few lessons the hard way.

She is so funny and loves pretending she talking on my phone.  Actually quite frequently  she really does call or text people. Sorry about the 5:00 am phone calls!

Brylee is little Miss Indpendent.  She is already picking out her clothes.  She loves wearing her pajamas as a cape she just put the arms on over her other clothes and runs around with the legs flowing behind her.  She also brings me random pieces of clothing and cries until I put them on her.  Sometimes she brings he heavy coat or snowsuit and demands to wear them.  Usually I take the hint and we go outside so sometimes she just hangs out inside with her big coat.  It kind of reminds me of those billboards where the kids have to wear winter coats inside  because their parents can't afford to heat the house.  I promise we heat our apartment!

She picked this outfit out by herself.  Pajamas with a vest, tutu, and mommy's boots.  She accessorizes with whatever she can.  I cut off part of a sleeve on my sweater and Brylee loves wearing it as a bracelet.

Loves to color (and occasionally eat crayons)!
My little Oklahoma baby who had never seen snow before moving here was really scared of it!
She is one messy eater, and loves rubbing food in her hair.
I learned a hard lesson that Brylee could reach up on the table and grab things!

The toy she is holding is Noah, from her Noah's Ark.  She loves him, and Noah is actually her newest word, she says Nuha. She carries him everywhere, takes naps with him, and throws a tantrum when I won't let her hold him for breakfast.  She also likes to share food with him, what a sweetheart.

She recently discovered that she loves her stuffed animals, and she's always finding fun places to put them.

We took her to a farm the other day and she loved them bunnies, they were making her laugh so hard.

We finger painted the other day and brylee had fun for about ten minutes then she was ready for a new activity .  she really enjoyed eating it though!  Probably because it had white flour and white sugar, two things she never gets.

Hew new favorite thing is to stir.  Sometimes when I am cooking I'll give her a bowl with some flour in it and she loves stirring it around.  And surprisingly she actually keeps the flour in the bowl.

She is such a big girl now and refuses to sit in her high chair.  She now has to sit at the table with mom and dad.

Brylee is a little vain, like all babies, and loves looking at pictures of herself!

Brylee is 15 and a half months and is such a blast.  She loves giving and blowing kisses, and gives really good hugs.  this age is so fun because of how fast they learn. She knows about 12 words, our favorite is squirrel.  she also knows quite a few signs.  Signing has been a life saver as a parent, she can always tell me what she wants.  Lately she signs all done when I'm changing her diaper, as you can imagine she's not a fan of diaper changes.  It's amazing how much babies understand at this age, she is a great listener! Its so funny to see how much she is taking in.  She watches me put lotion on my legs so she likes to come over and rub my legs too, she also likes to pat Sam and I on the bum...oops didn't think she was watching.  She loves getting her ears rubbed, she will come over and grab our hands and put them on her ears.  she likes to sit in between Sam and I and have one of us on each side rubbing an ear.
